Fortune Gems 3
Fortune Gems 3 is one of those games I opened expecting to close in five minutes and somehow kept on my home screen for a week. The whole thing runs on a small grid where you tap to line up colored gems, and the satisfying part is how clean the reactions feel — a matched row lights up, the tiles shuffle, and the board resets fast enough that you never sit around waiting.
Controls are as simple as it gets: everything is a single tap, no dragging, no combos to memorize. That sounds thin on paper, but the game leans into it. There's a nice rhythm once you learn to read the board a couple of moves ahead, and the little animations give each round some weight without slowing you down. I played most of it one-handed on the train, which is exactly the kind of thing it's built for.
Performance was solid even on my older test phone — no stutter, quick load times, and it doesn't hammer the battery. It's not deep, and it won't hold you for hours in one sitting, but as a game you dip into between other things, Fortune Gems 3 does its job better than most.
